In "Red and Blue," I sought to explore the powerful impact of colour on our perception and emotions. By using the complementary colours of red and blue, I aimed to create a dynamic interplay between warm and cool tones, conveying a sense of tension, balance, and energy. Through the use of printmaking techniques such as bending and scratching the linoleum and dripping wax dot-by-dot, I created a richly textured surface that enhances the depth and intensity of the red and blue colours. The juxtaposition of these two colours creates a visual vibration and afterimage that intensifies the emotional impact of the artwork.

At the same time, the interplay of red and blue also highlights their differences, with red representing passion, energy, and intensity, while blue suggests calmness, stability, and depth. Together, these two colours create a complex and ever-shifting landscape that reflects the fluid and ever-changing nature of our thoughts and emotions. "Red and Blue" is a celebration of the abstract qualities of colour, and the impact it has on our perception of the world.
